A pedicure is not just a way to get healthier, prettier toenails it also allows the client to relax with a comforting foot massage as well. Pedicures are a great way to relax your feet and make them perfectly pretty.

Why would a client enjoy the benefits of getting a pedicure? A pedicure allows a client to completely relax while they enjoy the advantages of having clean, polished toes. During a pedicure a client can take pleasure in soaking their feet and getting them rubbed with relaxing lotion. Many salons have massage chairs and allow clients to sit in them while they receive their pedicure.

To start a pedicure, a nail technician should remove any polish that was previously on the toes. She should then fill up the foot soak with warm water and place both feet in there. As the bubbles are massaging the feet and lower part of the legs, the technician can get all her tools and supplies set up. It is essential to make sure that all the tools are clean and sanitary before any treatment. A client never wants to receive any infections caused by bacteria that were on the tools used to clean her feet.

While the feet are soaking, the technician should scrub them and also use a pumice stone to remove any rough spots on the feet. Lotion can then be applied to the feet and legs after the scrub and massage gently onto the skin. The technician should always try to make the client as relaxed as possible so that she can enjoy the treatment to the fullest.

A technician should then remove one foot from the soaker and start cleaning under the nails, removing the cuticles and trimming the nails. The cuticles should be very soft from the warm water and from being scrubbed so the technician should be able to clip them away easily. Once one foot is finished, the technician should place it back in the water and take the other one out and perform the same tasks.

Once the feet are clean and the cuticles are trimmed, the technician will need to dry the feet and buff and file the toenails. The nails are now ready to paint. The nail technician should always remember to put a base coat of polish on first before the two coats of color polish the client chose. It is best to always put on a topcoat for extra shine and to lock in the polish so it doesn’t chip. The nail technician should always ask their client to relax for 10 minutes before leaving so the polish dries fully.
