Who doesn’t like getting a massage? Not only does it completely relax the body, but it relaxes the mind and reduces the stress that usually follows a person everyday. If you have a client looking for the ultimate in relaxation, they may be interested in receiving a hot stone massage.

Most clients love to indulge and treat themselves to a relaxing day at the spa. A favorite for many clients is getting a massage. A massage can relax a person physically and mentally, and will allow the client to almost completely forget the stress that follows them in their everyday life. So what if your client wants the ultimate relaxation? If you have a client that really enjoys getting a massage, you may want to suggest they get a stone massage.

What is a hot stone massage and how does it differ from other massages? Many clients know about a Swedish massage because it is the most common type of massage given. But many clients do not know what a hot stone massage is and how it differs from a Swedish massage. Like a Swedish massage, a hot stone massage relaxes a client because it focuses on certain points of the body to cause relaxation of the mind and body. But instead of using only hands, a massage therapist will use hot stones that are covered in oil to help relax the muscles.

Hot stone massages can offer many benefits to a client that he or she may not have even known was possible. Some excellent advantages that a hot stone therapy can offer is as follows:

    • Allows a client to receive the ultimate relaxation by encouraging deep tissue and muscle relaxation
    • Relieves tension and stress that many of us hold in our muscles
    • Helps to reduce pain
    • Increases the body’s circulation
    • Relaxes the mind and spirit of a person

The pressure and heat of a hot stones massage will deeply relax the back. The warmth of the stones is what really penetrates through to the deep tissues, and in return really relieves many aches and pains.
